I have yet to see Michael Shannon be anything less than brilliant. Interesting film that wasn't quite what I was expecting.

I guess there is something here (the diner scenes were interestingly presented) but much like things like I spit on your grave and hostel, just not much fun to watch.
Dead Set
A-
A brilliant miniseries out of England that far surpasses (the still quite good) The Walking Dead. Clever concept, wonderfully executed. The leads are all good, especially the main girl(pictured). Particularly love the ending.
Solitary Man
B-
Funny stuff here and there. Douglas' best since Wonder Boys. In the end It just felt a bit shallow to me.
Evita

I'm trying out for the play this afternoon so I watched the film for the first time. It's good except all the singing and dancing. (sighs, wonders how the hell i'm going to get through all the singing and dancing.)
update-got a chorus role, totally expected.
127 Hours
B-
good performance from Franco, danny boyle needs to chill a bit and not be quite so cliched. (ie- popular instrumental music during finale. lame foreshadowing in dialogue.)

Movie of the Year 2010
barring 127 Hours or Toy Story 3 blowing my mind over the next few days my movie of the year for 2010 is Enter The Void.
Gaspar Noe is a truly unique and challenging artist and I can only look forward to his further work.
